The global success of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream album has won the singer another award in the music business. Perry will be named NARM’s Artist of the Year at the Music Biz 2012 Awards Dinner Party that was held in Los Angeles on May 10.

“Katy’s music was absolutely everywhere over the past year, and her dominance of the singles charts is a nearly unprecedented accomplishment,” said Jim Donio, President of NARM, in a statement. “She has unquestionably blossomed into a true global superstar and has earned this Award in every sense of the word.”

Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream album has garnered her five number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 which almost broke the record set by Michael Jackson’s Bad album.
