Richard Donner and Goonies Crew
Great News was just related to Corey Feldman that the director of  the “Goonies” movie Richard Donner plans on making a sequel to the movie. The best news of them all is that he actually plans and wants to bring back all the original casting actors back on the set for the sequel.

Sources say, that Donner was in Beverly Hills signing autographs when he dropped the exciting news about the movie sequel. The only thing that Richard did not mention is whether he is going to recast the main characters and bring in Corey, Josh Brolin, Sean Astin and Data for cameos, or if they will really play their same roles 28 years later.

Car Wash – An Oldie but Goodie

tumblr_lpc9sqeOeJ1qmln6go1_1280Tonight I had a great conversation with my Dad and as usual (which I always love) it lead to great discussion about a film that influenced him. Tonight we spoke about the 1976 film CAR WASH. One of the first films my Father ever saw in this country (USA).

He recommended that I watch it and learn from the characters, his was an eagerness to share a few laughs with me the next time we spoke; However watching Car wash allowed me an excellent glimpse at social construction and ideas of the mid 1970’s. Car Wash is not a blaxploitation film (tho from the same era) or a mere comedy; It speaks about the hardships of working class americans and the mix of the very diverse stands points of found behind relatable characters.

My favorite aspect of the film, which I would have missed had I seen this film years ago, is the concept of it taking place in a single day in many peoples life’s. Very similar to the intertwined story in the film CRASH; CAR WASH is a funny film but stays true to what life is for so many low income americans. I am proud to say that CAR WASH has a majority black cast (85%) but I am more proud of the film highlighting more than just the African American adversity of the time.
