NFL Player Jerry Brown Dies in Car Accident
You have probably heard the sad news by now that a fatal car accident claimed the life of Dallas Cowboys’ LB Jerry Brown over the pass week. It has been really sad for the team but it may seem that they will be needing another player as well, Josh Brent who was driving the car has been arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter.
TMZ reports, Josh was driving at a high rate of speed at around 2:20 AM when his car “hit the outside curb,” flipped over and came to rest in the middle of the road. When police officials arrived on the scene of the accident, Josh was dragging Jerry away from the vehicle.
Jerry Brown was unresponsive and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Police gave a field sobriety test to Josh, he failed; then was arrested and booked on a second degree felony charge. Owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones released a statement saying:
“We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown. At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry’s family and all of those who knew him and loved him.”
