Finally Sherman Hemsley will be buried after being dead for over three months. A Texas judge gave the actor’s best friend the go ahead to proceed with the burial and running his estate, as it was intended in his will.
Sherman Hemsley was prominently known for his role as “George Jefferson,” Hemsley passed away on July 24 after suffering from lung cancer. Since he passed in July of this year, the late actor’s body has been sitting in a refrigerated storage at a funeral home and the judge things its about time his body laid to rest.
Richard Thornton, the actor’s half-brother, contested the will, which was signed six weeks before his death but Judge Patricia B. Chew decided in favor of Flora Enchinton, who was named in the will as executor of Hemsley’s estate.
