Madonna performed in Washington, D.C. on Monday night as a part of her MDNA Tour and she added some politics to her performance along with a few curse words.
“Y’all better vote for f–king Obama, OK? For better or for worse, all right? We have a black Muslim in the White House. Now that’s some amazing s–t,” she said. “It means there is hope in this country. And Obama is fighting for gay rights, so support the man, goddamnit.”
Obama has spoken and written on multiple occasions that he’s a Christian, so it seems that Madonna hit something well potent before her performance. Madonna’s comments — which may have been made in jest — came in the middle of an extended speech that touched on Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy and traced the civil rights movement from America’s inception all the way up to Obama’s election.
She also mentioned Obama during her live act earlier in September, when she thanked the president and unveiled a back tattoo of his name.
