Kelly Rowland’s face covers the latest issue of JET Magazine which is available on newsstands now, in this new issue the 30-year-old singer talks about her plans to meet her dad, who has battled alcoholism throughout his life and hasn’t seen his daughter since she was seven years old. She stated that she plans to meet him for the upcoming Holiday Season even though her father, Christopher Lovett hasn’t seen her for more than 20 years and never played a father figure in her life.
“That’s all I can say because I’m going to meet someone I haven’t seen in more than 20 years. In my heart I have forgiven him.”
Many of us would have thought that she would have referred to Beyonce’s father Mathew Knowles as her own father figure since she has been Beyonce’s friend for so many years and refers to her as her sister, but apparently that’s not the case. She was asked by the Magazine about her former manager Mathew Knowles, who is the father of her sister/best friend Beyonce and whether he played that father role she was lacking in her life, Kelly response was:

“Well, I am so thankful I was able to have my mom and Tina (Knowles), as well as wonderful women in my life, so I’m happy about that.”
Well its only safe to assume that he didn’t play a father figure in her life, but who knows there could be more to this story. Please share your thoughts on this article.
