Justin Bieber could go to Jail due to new anti-piracy bill

Justin Bieber in Jail
New anti-piracy bill could send Justin Bieber to jail, atleast according to an organization that is devoted to protecting the freedom of expression. They are called Fight for the Future and they have launched the Free Bieber campaign in an effort to fight a bill, S. 978, which if was approved will make streaming and using copyrighted content through electronic means illegal which could lead up to 5 years in prison.

According to Fight for the Future, if the bill is passed and made into law a whole lot of people will find themselves in trouble, people including Justin Bieber because prior to becoming famous, he posted videos of himself singing copyrighted R&B songs on the internet. So right now Fight for the Future is on an endless mission to urging people to sign an online petition opposing the proposed anti-piracy bill.

“Tell Congress to get a clue and stop trying to jail people for singing,” the group says. “Congress has no business making ordinary Internet users criminals for expressing themselves online.”

But, the prospect of Bieber going to jail is improbable, according to a spokesman for Senator Amy Klobuchar, who is sponsoring the bill. Source
