Tyler Perry is back in a deal with TBS for his new sitcom “For Better or Worse,” which is a series based on his “Why Did I Get Married?” Movie. Like previous projects with TBS, “House of Payne” and “Meet the Browns,” the new TV Show will start off with 10 episodes and if the new series reaches a certain rating during its first 10 episodes, TBS will sign a contract with the Hollywood mogul for another 90 episodes.

Ever since his first series, “House of Payne” he has been a success for the network and TBS wants to bask in the money they make from Tyler Perry’s Productions and add a new series will only do better for them. Michael Jai White and Tasha Smith are set to reprise their roles as television anchor Marcus and salon owner Angela. The new series is expected to begin production this summer, right as he is about to cut production on “House of Payne” after approximately 200 episodes.

“Even though it will be sad to say goodbye to House of Payne, I’m really looking forward to exploring new territory with For Better or Worse,” said Perry. “Working on House of Payne taught me a lot about what it takes to make a successful television series and I’m looking forward to applying that experience to For Better or Worse.”
